It's Toadally Awesome!
The Kids Community Club Savings Account encourages children to develop the habit of saving money while gaining a responsible attitude about the use of money. Community Bank & Trust has adopted Freddy Financial, a small, green toad with a big smile, a princely personality, and a knack for saving money, to represent its Kids Community Club Savings Program. This program has been approved by the Cheatham County School Board and is supported by the Tennessee Bankers Association and the American Bankers Association.
The bank will provide a "mock-bank" environment at local schools to allow students to open a Kids Community Club Savings Account and make monthly deposits, learning first-hand how to save their allowance and other income. In order to accept deposits at school, the bank has designated one day each month as Bank Day. Students may make deposits, as little as 25 cents, into their accounts on these days or at any other time during the year by visiting a Community Bank & Trust office.
A student identification card is issued with each new account for use by the student as identification at each bank office.
A savings passbook is issued with each account to maintain a record of all transactions.
There is no minimum deposit required to open the account. After the account is opened, the minimum deposit is 25 cents. Withdrawals from the account may be made ONLY at a Community Bank & Trust office, never at school. The student must be accompanied by one authorized co-owner on the account and two signatures are required on the withdrawal slip.
